Kirsten Arnold has been working in Gastroenterology since 2002, and has been the IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist at Christchurch hospital since 2013. She is the co-chair of the NZ IBD Nurses Group and is the lead nurse on the CCNZ Camp Purple committee. She loves camp and takes every opportunity to encourage other nurses to volunteer!
Cheryl Atherfold is the is a registered nurse with a range of practice and leadership experiences including Chief Nursing Midwifery Officer (Interim) at Health NZ, Waikato District, Director of Nursing at the University of Waikato where, along with a dynamic and diverse team she leads the newly established Nursing Programme (2021) and previously as Deputy Chief Nurse Health New Zealand, Waikato District.
Mavis Chan is the Clinical Nurse Educator at Westmead Hospital’s Endoscopy Unit in Sydney, Australia and has been dual-trained in both Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Nursing and Anaesthesia-Recovery Nursing.
Nicola Griffiths is a nurse practitioner and endoscopist. She has been in NZ since 2017. Nicola is also a train the trainer and a bowel screening colonoscopist. She has an interest in training individuals in safe and competent endoscopy, her clinical interests very much vary however has a keen interest in low anterior resection syndrome due to its life debilitating effects and little resolution available.
Jay is a Colorectal clinical nurse specialist whom works alongside a wonderful team of colorectal surgeons at Waikato Hospital.
Jays nursing background is mainly surgical nursing with experience in tutoring, education, management and practice nursing.
Originally from the UK, Barry completed his nurse training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital Cambridge in 1997 and spent the early part of his career working in intensive care and organ donation. Barry moved to New Zealand in 2005 and has been working at the New Zealand Liver Transplant Unit since 2006 as a transplant coordinator.
An avid reader of non-fiction, a self-confessed shoe fanatic and lover of all things goat, Linda is also one of New Zealand’s most respected adult educators. She has run a very successful training business for over 25 years working within the Health, Education and Local Government sectors throughout New Zealand.
Daniel is a Clinical Nurse Consultant of Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, NSW, Adjunct Lecturer of Internal Medicine at The University of Western Australia, and President of the Gastroenterological Nurses College of Australia.
Caro Staheli is a colorectal clinical nurse specialist at Waikato Hospital, working specifically with patients with colorectal cancer, supporting them and their family throughout their journey. She is also involved in the National Peritonectomy service, working with surgeons and patients to faciliate specialised surgery and care.
Phoebe is a Hepatology Clinical Nurse Consultant at Latrobe Regional Health. Her career in hepatology began as a community hepatitis C nurse in 2016, shortly after completing a post-graduate degree in international health. She is expanding her scope of practice through a nurse practitioner candidacy.
